JAYAPURA - Nutrition issues are still a big challenge for all parties in Papua Province. High rates of malnutrition require serious attention from all parties.
Responding to this, Acting Governor of Papua Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun assessed that one of the concrete steps that can be taken to deal with the problem is to ensure that every child in Papua gets a healthy and nutritious breakfast every day.
"This is because food is an important foundation to start the day with enough energy and good concentration, especially for children who are in a period of growth," explained Governor Ridwan when giving a speech at the Workshop on the Dissemination of Healthy Breakfast Modeling Results for Nutritious Actions and Field Visits in Jayapura City, Wednesday (5/6/2024).
On this occasion, Ridwan appreciated the workshop's implementation, because it is a strategic step to disseminate the results of modelling and research on the importance of healthy breakfast for our children.
So, he hopes that implementing this dissemination will realize the synergy between the local government, relevant ministries, educational institutions, and the entire community in realizing a healthy breakfast program.
"We make the best use of this opportunity to discuss, share knowledge and develop a concrete action plan."
"I hope that the results of this workshop can be implemented immediately to provide real benefits for the Papuan people, especially our children," he said.
Meanwhile, the workshop activity is a collaboration between the Papua Provincial Government, the Jayapura City Government and UNICEF through its partner, YP2KP. Also present at the event was the Acting Chairperson of the Papua PKK, Linda Onibala. ***
