JAYAPURA - The Minister of Home Affairs gave an award to Papua Province as one of the regional governments that has provided 100 percent financial support (APBD) in the implementation of the 2024 simultaneous Regional Head Elections.
The award was received by the Head of the Papuan National and Political Unity, representing the Acting Governor, in Jakarta, Tuesday (16/7/2024).
Acting Governor of Papua Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun stated that the success of his government could not be separated from the role of related parties.
He also appreciated the organizers of the Regional Elections in his area who had supported the process of completing the administration of the grant funds.
"Of course, with the allocation of available funds, the simultaneous implementation of the Regional Head Elections can run well. And later the grant funds distributed can be accounted for in accordance with applicable regulations," explained Ridwan as quoted by the Head of the Papua Communication and Informatics Service, Jeri A. Yudianto.
Jeri also stated that the success of the distribution of Regional Election grants was not exemplary from the supervision to districts and cities that continued to be carried out by the Acting Governor of Papua.
Moreover, the implementation of the Regional Head Elections is a democratic party that aims to elect regional leaders. "So, let's guard it together, so that peace and security are created in Papua," he said.
It is known that there are five provinces throughout Indonesia that have 100 percent distributed their grant funds in the simultaneous Regional Head Elections. ***
