JAYAPURA - Acting Governor of Papua Ramses Limbong is very proud and moved to see the atmosphere of the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia which runs smoothly and solemnly.
His party even danced with the community after the commemoration ceremony at the Jayapura Mandala Stadium.
"I am very proud because Papua is friendly as we danced together, it was the first impression when participating in the inaugural ceremony in Jayapura," he explained, Saturday.
He also expressed his pride when wearing traditional clothes, which are representatives of nine districts and cities.
"Papua is rich in culture, therefore I use accessories from nine districts and cities," he said.
He also noted the celebration of the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia this year which contains a meaning of new hopes for how the people in Papua continue to advance and innovate.
Ramses also expressed his appreciation to President Jokowi who poured his heart and mind into always visiting Papua.
"Therefore, we continue to hope for sustainable development in Papua," he said. ***
