The meeting discussed some issues, including the readiness for the implementation of the upcoming November 27, 2024 Regional Elections.
Governor Ramses Limbong told reporters that MRP is part of the government's working partners, so it is important to consolidate to maintain security and order in Papua.
"MRP is a strategic partner of the government in developing Papua, for that I am building collaboration together."
"Especially now that it is close to the implementation of the Regional Head Election, where synergy must be strengthened."
"So earlier we discussed the issue of the Special Committee for the preparation of the Regional Elections, where this is our concern so that the election runs smoothly," he said.
Chairman of the Papua MRP Nerlince Wamuar Rollo said that his institution's task in the implementation of the Regional Elections is to give consideration, and approval and recommend that the candidates for governor and deputy governor are Indigenous Papuans (OAP).
"Therefore, it is important to form a Special Committee for Regional Elections to check the authenticity of the candidates for governor and deputy governor are indeed Indigenous Papuans," he said. ***
