JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government, through the Regional Inspectorate, will hold the Regional Oversight Coordination Meeting at the end of September 2025.
The forum serves as a platform for central and regional governments to strengthen governance and accountability in public administration in Papua.
Head of the Papua Regional Inspectorate, Danny Korwa, said this meeting was initially scheduled to be held in Sarmi Regency but was moved to Jayapura Regency to accommodate the attendance of Ministry of Home Affairs officials and regional heads from across Papua.
“This Regional Oversight Coordination Meeting is an important moment to harmonize oversight regulations, particularly on funding for Regional Inspectorates and the appointment and dismissal of inspectorate officials. All processes must comply with regulations to ensure effective oversight,” Danny said in Jayapura.
The 2025 Regional Oversight Coordination Meeting will be attended by the Inspector General of the Ministry of Home Affairs and his staff, as well as all regents and mayors in Papua. Their presence is expected to strengthen central–regional coordination in building a transparent oversight system.
In addition to regulatory discussions, it will also feature the signing of a joint commitment, in which regents and mayors will formally declare their support for the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP) in carrying out their supervisory duties in each region. ***
