JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government, through its Education Office, continues to promote the development of human resources by encouraging students to participate in the Higher Education Affirmation Scholarship Program (ADik) and the Secondary Education Affirmation Program (ADEM), both of which are administered by the central government.
Head of the Papua Provincial Education Office, Marthen Medlama Tabenak, said that these affirmative education programs provide opportunities for Papuan students to continue their studies in various regions across Indonesia, both at the secondary school and higher education levels.
"These affirmation programs are central government policies specifically designed to expand educational access for Papuan children, particularly Indigenous Papuans," he said.
According to Tabenak, the programs are intended not only to improve participants' educational qualifications but also to broaden their perspectives through interaction with people from diverse cultural backgrounds throughout Indonesia.
"Papuan students not only gain academic knowledge, but also learn how to adapt to new environments, understand different regional cultures, and develop their character and independence," he explained.
He emphasized that exposure to different educational and social environments can help prepare young Papuans to become more competitive and capable of contributing to regional development in the future.
Tabenak also encouraged the public, especially students and parents, to take full advantage of these opportunities as part of efforts to advance Papua through education and human resource development.
The Papua Provincial Government hopes that greater participation in the ADik and ADEM programs will help create a generation of well-educated, skilled, and independent Papuans who can contribute to the province's long-term progress and prosperity. ***
