Papua Provincial Government Launches Indonesian Independence Day and No-Corona Youth Event

Papua Provincial government on Monday (August 3, 2020), will roll out the launching of the 75th Indonesian Independence Day event, at the Governor office, Jayapura.

The event will also be established with the launching of the No-Corona Youth of Papua for each district, to make efforts of prevention and countermeasures the Covid-19.

"The event will be led by the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe. We ask the prayers of the whole community so that all events could be carried out as it should be, "explained the head of the Department of Communications and Informatics (Kominfo) of Papua, Jery A. Yudianto, Sunday (August 2, 2020).

Jery said the background of the No-Corona Youth Papua Event because the amount of Covid-19 transmission in Jayapura is now continuing to have a significant increase.

Thus, it is expected that the youth can take part in socializing so that the community can do activities by observing the corona prevention health protocol.

The launching of Indonesian Independence Day event is rehearsal of the implementation for Independence Day ceremony which will be held on August 17, 2020.

"Indonesian Independence Day ceremony is no longer held at Mandala Stadium. It will be held at the governor's office Jayapura yard with limited invitations. It is also due to the current conditions that are not allowed to gather a lot of people because of the high transmission of Covid-19 in Jayapura", he said.

Nevertheless, Jery ensured that the atmosphere of Indonesia's Independence Day anniversary would be held lively. Athough with the limited situation, the spirit of struggle of independence heroes will still be shown in the atmosphere of the flag ceremony.
