KENDARI - A total of 12 regional heads consisting of seven Governors and five Regents / Mayors, received the award "Initiator of Sports Indonesia 2022" from the Sports Journalists Section of the Indonesian Journalists Association (SIWO PWI).
Symbolic handover of the award by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Zainuddin Amali, in a series of National Press Day Commemorations February 9, 2022, at one of the hotels of Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Regency, Tuesday (08/02/2022).
Not only the regional head, four Members of the Legislature and five Regional KONI Administrators in Indonesia also received awards.
Minister of Youth and Sports Zainuddin Amali expressed his appreciation to SIWO PWI who had given awards to regional heads, KONIDa and members of Regional People's Representative Council.
"This is a sign of the attention of fellow journalists who are members of the PWI, especially SIWO, to the development of national sports," he said.
According to him, the National Sports Grand Design (DBON) towards Indonesia Gold 2045 which is currently being echoed certainly will not run without the support of fellow press / journalists.
DBON in accordance with Presidential Decree No.86 of 2021, it means that the rules have been made good, we set and prepare for implementation, but if the public does not know what has been implemented by the government, of course it will not produce anything," zainuddin said.
Therefore, he hopes for the support of PWI SIWO so that the implementation of DBON can run optimally.
This we must take care of, lest the program has been made as before, the design is good rule of law as well, but at the time of weak implementation and finally the program disappears by itself. Well, I don't want DBON to be like that," said Zainuddin.
The Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe through the Head of the Papua Communication and Informatics Department, Jeri A. Yudianto who became one of the recipients of the award also appreciated and thanked the PWI who had given this award.
"Representing the Governor of Papua, we express our appreciation to SIWO PWI who silently monitors leaders, government figures who have a special vision in developing sports," Jeri said.
He said, the Governor of Papua was indeed very consensual and gave full attention in the development of sports in Papua. Not only that, the Governor also concentrated on the progress of Papua in other fields such as human resource development including bringing Papua forward and parallel to other regions.
"Moreover, what was conveyed by the Minister of Youth and Sports related to DBON towards Indonesia Gold 2045, this shows our shared synergy in the development of national sports," he added.
As a Papuan community, Jeri said, of course, quite proud of the leadership of Governor Lukas Enembe.
"The National Sports Week XX has been held successfully even though in the Covid-19 outbreak period as the proof. This is as one of the indicators of assessment, that we are able to hold multi-event in the midst of a pandemic, and this is the first event held in Indonesia that can run optimally, there is a jump in sports achievement in Papua, "said Jeri proudly.
Chairman of the Central PWI, Atal S Depari greatly appreciated the heads of the award-receiving regions, that they have strongly supported the development of achievement awards in their area.
"It's very appreciative that they have allocated a budget to the sport. Because the sport needs budget support, and sports always perform make us proud," said Atal.
He hopes that the appreciation (award) given can be useful and become a trigger for the spirit to carry out DBON in the future.
