JAYAPURA - Expert Staff of the Governor of Papua for Community and Human Resources, Elsye Rumbekwan requested that the preparation of the revision of the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) of Papua Province, considering the cultural approach of five indigenous regions.
"Of course, by not ruling out the needs of the Papuan people. Papua has its customary territory with a unique characteristic. The majority of our people are in the forest and sea area as a place of economic activity," Elsye told reporters, after opening the Third Public Consultation on the Preparation of the Revision of the Papua Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW), at one of the star hotels in Jayapura City, Thursday (24/3/2022).
Elsye added, In addition to the cultural approach, it is very important in the reordering of Regional Spatial Plan, carried out transparently, participative, inclusively and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
"And no less important is to side with the community," he hoped.
The Director of Regional Spatial Development Region II of the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning / National Land Agency appreciated the Papua Provincial Government, because in the preparation of the spatial plan it was considered to have accommodated customary areas.
The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs also, he continued, is ready to synergize in a series of processes for preparing the revision of the Papua Province Regional Spatial Plan. Alignment is encouraged by the one-map policy (KSP) to go through a revision process that uses the same map to avoid overlapping, in line with PP 43/2021.
"Because of the participatory process by presenting all elements in this public consultation, it is expected to produce self-value to move forward so that it is integrated synchronized between regions and interests".
"Thus, the hope is that the process of revising the Papua Province Regional Spatial Plan can run well and in accordance with the target time," he hoped.
It is known that the elements involved in the Regional Spatial Plan revision include elements of the Central Government, the Papuan People's Assembly, the Papuan People's Representative Council, Coordination Forum for Regional Leaders Papua as well as all regional apparatus in the provincial government environment, vertical agencies, indigenous institutions and Papuan Tribal Customary Council. ***
