JAYAPURA - Head of the Papua Social, Population and Civil Registry Department (Dinsosdukcapil), Rebekah Haluk stated that she is ready to support the provision of voter data for the local General Election Commission (KPU) in making the 2024 elections a success.
This was conveyed by Rebekah in Jayapura, Thursday (23/6/2022), after meeting the leaders of the Papuan KPU.
According to her, with the electronic system that has been built at this time, population data is certain to be getting better. Even now, it is confirmed that there is no longer double data in population data in Papua.
"For example, if a person moves an area from Papua to the island of Java, it must be his population document moving there too because he must have reported to the local Department of Social, Population and Civil Registration.”
"It's different if he doesn't report, it must be difficult to get services, so he must report moving residents. But the point is that for data collection to the KPU, we are ready to support it," she said.
The Chairperson of the Papua KPU, Diana Simbiak, stated that after the 2024 election phase officially began on June 14, her institution immediately started coordination with cross-sectors, one of which was holding a meeting with the local department.
This meeting aims to coordinate voter data before the stages of updating data and compiling voter lists in the upcoming 2024 elections.
After meeting officials of the Department of Social, Population and Civil Registration of Papua, she also expressed support for the success of the e-ID recording program in Papua Province, in supporting the implementation of the 2024 elections. ***
