JAYAPURA - Assistant for Economic Affairs of the Regional Secretary of Papua, Muhammad Musa'ad appealed to the residents of Bumi Cenderawasih to install red and white attributes, ahead of the celebration of the 77th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

"Not only the community, entrepreneur, offices and the entire community are required to install attributes of independence such as the red and white flag as a sign of gratitude for the sacrifices of heroes who have fought for the independence of the Republic of Indonesia," explained Musa'ad, after a fun walk in the framework of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, at the Lukas Enembe Stadium Yard, Kampung Harapan, Jayapura Regency, Friday (5/8/2022).

Meanwhile, the fun walk activities in the framework of the Indonesian Independence Day were led by Papua Regional Secretary Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun, also presented by the leaders of regional apparatus organization (OPD) and staff within the Papua Provincial Government.

The fun walk took the starting route from Kalkote Beach and finished at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, which was then closed with the handover of door prizes for all participants.

Musa'ad added that in addition to the fun walk, the committee will organize other activities, such as blood donations, vaccinations and touring.

"Then there are also rowing competitions, swimming, tug of war, greasy pole and 10-kilometer runs," he said.

Musa'ad added that all activities in the framework of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia will be held at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, so that all assets of the former PON are used for state activities.

"In essence, all activities will be centered by Lukas Enembe Stadium. This means that the assets will be utilized with a good purpose. Hopefully there will be more events that utilize the former PON building," he concluded. ***
