JAYAPURA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Papua Province recorded the value of exports of Papua at US$ 783.27 million in September 2022, an increase of 42.60 percent compared to the previous month of US$ 549.26 million.
The exports in September 2022 became the highest for the past three years. "It's set a record for the last three years. The value is higher than in September 2020 and 2021," said Coordinator of the Distribution Statistics Function of BPS Papua Akhmad Fauzi, who accompanied the Head of BPS Papua, Adriana Helena Carolina, when giving a press statement, Monday (17/10) afternoon in the hall of the BPS Papua office.
Akhmad explained that Papua's exports in September 2022 were US$ 783.27 million, an increase of 42.60 percent compared to the previous month of US$ 549.26 million.
"So if we look at the type, the exports are only in the form of non-oil and gas exports this month. The largest exports still come from the port of Amamapare Timika, which is worth US$ 779.77 or 98.66 percent of the total exports of Papua," said Akhmad.
Cumulatively, total exports of Papua from January to September 2022 were valued at US$ 4,877.80 million, an increase of 57.74 percent compared to the total exports from January to September 2021 which were valued at US$ 3,092.28 million.
Meanwhile, the export value of the metal ore, slag and ash (HS26) class in September 2022 was recorded at US$ 779.77 or an increase of 44.06 percent compared to the previous month of US$ 541.29 million. Then for the export of wood and goods from wood (HS44) worth US$ 3.21 million.
Exports of fish and other aquatic animals (HS03), he added, were worth US$0.13 million which was sent directly through Frans Kaisiepo airport, Biak Regency.
"Meanwhile, other non-oil and gas exports this month amounted to US$ 0.6 million," he explained. ***
