JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government appreciates the success of 20 district and city governments in obtaining an Unqualified Opinion from theFinancial Audit Board of Republic of Indonesia on the 2021 financial statements.
"Of course, it is quite encouraging because it shows that in general, financial management has been implemented properly, transparently, and accountably," explained Assistant II of the Papua Regional Office, Muhammad Musaad in Jayapura, Tuesday (10/18/2022).
Musaad said that the 2021 Unqualified Opinion in the Papua Province region also increased from the previous 18 local governments to 20 local governments.
His party also needs to give appreciation to the 20 city districts that have received Unqualified Opinion, to get an award from the Ministry of Finance, recently.
"The award is expected to encourage further improvement in the quality of regional financial management in order to realize an increase in development and welfare of the Papuan people," he explained.
He added that the Papua Provincial Government is currently continuing to strive so that the title of Unqualified Opinion from the Financial Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia, which has been achieved eight times, correlates with the performance of the local government.
Similarly, it is also a homework for all parties to compare Unqualified Opinion with the results of performance appraisals through the Government Agency Performance Accountability System (SAKIP).
"In essence, the successive Unqualified Opinion principles are also an encouragement to continue to improve the quality of financial governance within the local government".
"So we are grateful because in recent years the Financial Audit Board, not only conducted an assessment of Unqualified Opinion or regional managers, but conducted an examination of performance thematically," he concluded. ***
