JAYAPURA - Assistant for General Affairs of the Papua Regional Secretariat, Derek Hegemur appealed to the regent officials in Cenderawasih Earth to carry out the duties of regional heads according to the rules to create a sense of security ahead of the upcoming 2024 General Elections.

This was conveyed by Assistant Derek in Jayapura, Wednesday, responding to the inauguration of a number of acting regents in Papua by the Ministry of Home Affairs a few days ago.

"The inauguration of all acting officers in the Ministry of Home Affairs, for this reason, we hope that the duties of regional heads will be carried out in accordance with the rules," he said.

The Regent of Tolikara, Marthen Kogoya told reporters via mobile phone that all the directives of Home Minister Tito Karnavian at the inauguration, would be carried out as much as possible.

"Surely I will work hard to embrace all the elements that exist in the district".

"This includes special directives to maintain security in Tolikara Regency and make the elections a success in 2024," he said.

Marthen, who is also the Head of the Regional Civil Service Agency of Papua Province, realized that to build Tolikara Regency cannot be done alone. Instead, they must join hands with related parties and must get support from the community.

"Of course, I will work hard to embrace all parties to build Tolikara in the future".

"This includes trying to create security in Tolikara, so that later all government programs can run well for the advancement of development and good services to the community," he said. ***
