JAYAPURA - The Public Relations Coordinating Board (Bakohumas) is encouraged to play a full role in providing information services to the public, in order to maintain security stability in the situation and conditions of fuel increase and inflation in recent times.

"Bakohumas is a mouthpiece or source of information in conveying government programs and performance, so it requires its ability to face the challenges and changes of the times very quickly".

"Especially facing the development of technology, information and communication as well as hoax news that continues to go viral in the community and on social media," said the Head of the Papua Province Communication and Informatics Department, Jeri Agus Yudianto when reading a written speech by the Governor of Papua, at the Bakohumas Papua Forum, at the Papua Diskominfo Hall, Jayapura, Thursday (20/10/2022).

Still said by the Governor, Bakohumas' role is very important in managing communication and information by paying attention to the latest emerging strategic issues, namely the increase in fuel and the occurrence of inflation in Papua.

Bakohumas is also one of the benchmarks for transparency towards government services, therefore Bakohumas must be able to provide information to all levels of society with various information.

"The reason for the importance of Bakohumas is to provide information and coordinate with each other and cooperate between Government Public Relations or Work Units that function as public relations, TNI, POLRI, BUMN and BUMD in order to support the smooth running of government institutions in Papua," he said.

Meanwhile, in addition to conducting the Bakohumas Papua forum meeting, on the sidelines of the activity, Tobbi Podcast was also launched, which is expected to be a means of information services for the residents of Cenderawasih Earth.
