JAYAPURA - Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia, Zainudin Amali officially opened the Rector Cup II Football Tournament of Cendrawasih University in 2022 at Mahachandra Stadium, Perumnas III Waena, Papua.
"By always hoping for the blessings and grace of God, today I officially opened the Rector Cup Football Tournament," said Minister of Youth and Sports Amali opening the tournament which brought together the opening match between Denfale Jayapura vs Uncen Papua FC, Monday (24/10) afternoon.
Minister Amali admitted that his presence at the Uncen Campus was for the third time. He hopes Uncen will be a source for talented young athletes.
"I am thankful for the third time I came to Uncen. And today in addition to academic activities, there are also activities in the field. Hopefully this will be a place to guide talents for the best talents in the field of Papuan football," said Minister of Youth and Sports Amali accompanied by Head of Public Relations Indra Jaya Atmaja.
"And again this is a sign that we chose Uncen as a center according to Presidential Regulation 86 on DBON. Hopefully, the activity will be successful and, congratulations to the participants. Uphold sportsmanship, and of course the brotherhood and friendship of all of you," said Minister Amali firmly.
Previously, Rector of Uncen, Dr. Apolo Safanpo expressed his gratitude for the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports Amali for the third time in Papua.
"On behalf of the Uncen extended family, we would like to welcome you to Papua. This is the third visit by Minister Amali. He always responds to our letter requests in the midst of his busy life," he said at the event which was attended by the Chairman of KONI Central, Marciano Norman, Deputy of KONI Central Soedarmo and Chairman of KONI Papua Kenius Kagoya.
"To the participants, I congratulate you on competing. Hopefully this match will be a benefit for us for sports achievements and coaching football athletes and contributing athletes in Papua Province and the national level. May God give us all the blessings," he concluded. ***
