According to the Head of the Central Statistics Agency of Papua Province, Adriana Helena Carolina, the economy in Papua in the third quarter of 2022, experienced a growth of 5.78 percent compared to the previous year.
"The business fields that experienced the highest growth were transportation and warehousing business fields of 22.95 percent," Adriana said to the press, in Jayapura, Monday (7/11/2022).
According to her, the economic growth of 5.78 percent is a contribution from almost all business fields, especially those that make a major contribution to the Papuan economy.
"Namely mining and quarrying business fields which contributed 36.14 percent, government administration, defense and social security contributed 9.10 percent, agriculture, forestry and fisheries contributed 10.71 percent and others," she said.
Meanwhile, the growth of transportation and warehousing business fields was caused by an increase in the number of departing passengers, cargo and freight forwarding services both land, sea and air.
"But in addition to transportation and warehousing, other high-growth business fields are mining and quarrying business fields of 8.50 percent and electricity and gas procurement business fields of 7.09 percent," she said. ***
