JAYAPURA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Papua announced the combined year on year (yoy) inflation rate of 3 CPI cities in Papua at 6.43 percent in November.
This means that there is inflation in all CPI cities, including Merauke at 5.10 percent, Timika at 6.51 percent, and Jayapura at 6.81 percent.
This was conveyed by the Head of BPS Papua Adriana H. Carolina, in Jayapura, Thursday (1/12/2022).
Adriana said that inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index.
"As it happened, the food, beverage and tobacco group was 6.54 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 0.27 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 2.97 percent".
"Then the household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group was 5.48 percent; the health group at 2.61 percent; the transport group at 19.57 percent; recreational, sports and cultural groups at 5.97 percent; the education group at 7.74 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group at 4.13 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 6.07 percent," she explained.
It is known that the monthly inflation rate/month to month (mtm) in November 2022 is -0.08 percent and the inflation rate for the calendar year/year to date (ytd) (January-November) 2022 is 4.69 percent.
"Meanwhile, the yoy inflation rate of foodstuffs was 6.71 percent in November 2022, then the mtm inflation rate was -0.63 percent, and the ytd inflation rate was 3.65 percent. ***
