JAYAPURA - A day after his appointment as Acting Governor of Papua, Regional Secretary Ridwan Rumasukun immediately held a meeting with the Provincial Forkompinda, Friday (13/1/2023), in Jayapura.

The topics of discussion in the meeting included discussing the issue of public security in Papua.

This was conveyed by Regional Secretary Ridwan in an official statement after the meeting.

"The point is that this meeting is because I want to get acquainted (with Forkompinda) also because the position of Regional Secretary is the Secretary in Forkompinda. Meanwhile, Forkompinda members are regional heads and other officials".

"So our meeting today is a gathering for the current condition of Papua," Ridwan explained.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief of the Papua Regional Police of Papua, Brig. Gen. Pol Ramdani Hidayat ensured that the condition of public security of the capital of Papua was under control, the result of cooperation between the Military Force and Police and also local government.

Meanwhile, regarding the deaths and injuries caused by clashes (stray bullets), after the arrest of Governor Lukas Enembe, Deputy Chief of the Papua Regional Police said he had formed an investigation team to uncover the real incident.

While the conditions in Pegunungan Bintang region are currently safe and controlled. However, measured decisive action will be taken within the legal framework with the involvement of the National Armed Force of Indonesia.

Regarding hoaxes, he ensures that they will deepen and then make a summons. Meanwhile, the form of provocation will soon be suspected.

"We can counter hoaxes but provocateurs if they haven't happened we will call for confirmation, but if they have happened, we will apologize one day we will make suspects," he said. ***
