JAYAPURA - The Central Government has set the Sail Teluk Cenderawasih 2023 activity as a national tourism agenda that the implementation is now coordinated by the Ministry of Tourism and the Creative Economy (Kemenkomarivest RI), in order to increase investor confidence and attract tourism visits.
The implementation time is agreed in August 2023, so that it is not far from other national and international agendas, such as the annual meeting of the GCF Task Force (Governors' Climate and Forest Task Force).
In this regard, the Head of the Papua Communication and Informatics Service, Jeri A. Yudianto, said that the national agenda of Sail Teluk Cenderawasih will be held on February 1-3, 2023 in Jakarta, by the central, provincial and district governments of the organizers.
"In essence, the Sail Teluk Cenderawasih activity is a collaborative agenda between the Central, Provincial and Regency Governments".
"So a joint commitment is needed, because through this event we will introduce the cultural potential and of course the nautical potential that exists in Papua so that everyone can see it nationally and internationally," explained Jeri, Friday (20/1/2023), after accompanying the Acting Governor of Papua to receive a visit from the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP), in Jayapura.
Jeri added that the implementation of Sail Teluk Cenderawasih received attention from the community, especially the organizing district, because it has the potential to provide added value.
"Only indeed related to tourism agendas located in regencies outside Papua Province or those currently in thenew autonomous regions, it is hoped that the timing of the implementation can be arranged jointly between provinces and the head of the organizers".
"So that it is also not too far apart from the implementation agenda, so that it can increase tourist visits to Papua Province and other provinces on Papua Island," he concluded. ***
