JAYAPURA - Papua Governor Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun ensured that his party is strongly committed to increasing the involvement of Indigenous Papuans (OAP) in all fields of development, especially forestry and the environment.
"Moreover, Papua has extensive tropical forests and contains biodiversity and is also committed to efforts to mitigate and adapt to climate change," explained Ridwan, in Jayapura, at the socialization of Indonesia's FOLU Net Sink 2030 which was attended by Member of Commission IV of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia Sulaiman L Hamzah and Director General of Forestry Planning and Environmental Management of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry as Chairman of Daily I Indonesia's FOLU Net Sink 2030 Ruandha Agung Sugardiman.
Governor Ridwan also stated that he would encourage the formation of a team in areas that have the same understanding as the Ministry of Environment and Forestry for the implementation of Indonesia's FOLU Net Sink 2030.
"So I ask all participants of Socialization Indonesia's FOLU Net Sink 2030 to follow as well as possible so that later it will produce an understanding so that it can be implemented," he said.
Ridwan added that through this convention, it is hoped that in the future in efforts to mitigate climate change adaptation funds, as well as other information relevant to the achievement of the objectives of the scattered activities.
"The issue of climate change requires many developing countries, especially those with large forests, as we actively participate in reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the forestry sector," he said.
It is known that the socialization of Indonesia's FOLU Net Sink 2030 has been carried out which was attended by Members of Commission IV of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia and the Director General of Forestry Planning and Environmental Management of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry as the Chairman of Indonesia's FOLU Net Sink 2030 and other related agencies. ***
