JAYAPURA - The World Bank officially offers cooperation in stunting management programs, clean water to the Papua Provincial Government to accelerate the development process and community services in Papua.
Not only that, the World Bank is also interested in helping Papua deal with the problem of poverty to agriculture in a broad sense. It will become a cooperation program starting this year, as a result of discussion between the World Bank and the Papua Provincial Government, Monday (20/2/2023).
"They (the World Bank) essentially have a program to help Papua deal with a number of basic problems in various fields. But it will focus on several things such as handling stunting, clean water and poverty".
"Indeed, this first phase of the meeting is only limited to discussions between the World Bank and the Papua Government. Over time, it will be evaluated to follow up what is suitable to be done in Papua and Papua Provinces as a whole," explained Acting Governor M. Ridwan Rumasukun, after the meeting.
Ridwan on that occasion, appreciated the concern of the World Bank who had a strong desire to encourage the process of accelerating development in Papua as a whole. Therefore, he hopes that the discussions that have been carried out will soon continue to the level of implementing the cooperation program.
Meanwhile, Kahkonen, Country Director for Indonesia and Timor Leste through his translator, said that he was very happy to meet with the Acting Governor of Papua, M Ridwan Rumasukun.
"Some of the things we discussed, one of which was related to Stunting, electric clean water which was the main issue in the discussion," said Kahkonen.
He also expressed his gratitude for the hospitality of the Acting Governor of Papua who had received the World Bank entourage. "We look forward to the opportunity to continue other cooperation with the Papua Provincial Government," he said.
It is known that the World Bank group visited Papua Province and met with Acting Governor M.Ridwan Rumasukun, in the Papua Regional Secretariat Meeting Room, this afternoon.
