JAYAPURA - The World Bank expressed its readiness to facilitate the preparation of the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) of three New Autonomous Regions (DOB) resulting from the expansion of the mother province of Papua.
It was conveyed by the Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of Papua Yohanis Walilo in Jayapura on Tuesday.
"In a meeting with the World Bank some time ago, they planned to help facilitate the preparation of RTRW in New Autonomous Regions and the main province".
"We welcome it and we hope it can be realized as soon as possible," he said.
According to Walilo, the preparation of the Papua RTRW as the main province should have been completed. It's just that, due to the formation of the New Autonomous Region, it had to be a recitation.
"The RTRW of Papua should have finished since last year, but there was expansion, and based on the results of a meeting some time ago in Jakarta with the land agency, it had to be changed," he explained.
Yohanis added that the RTRW is part of the general plan and is a derivative and refers to higher regulations, namely development plans for national, provincial, and district/city scopes.
RTRW is the basis for formulating spatial utilization policies in provincial and district/city areas.
Therefore, he hopes that all provinces in Papua will soon have RTRW, to become a reference in the development and community services in their respective regions. ***
