JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government was awarded as one of the provinces that supports the Healthy Indonesia National Health Insurance (JKN-KIS) program, to the realization of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Indonesia.
Acting Assistant for Economic and Social Affairs Suzana D. Wanggai, Thursday (16/3/2023), in Jayapura expressed her pride in this achievement.
The Papua Provincial Government together with related parties, she continued, have been ready to maintain the achievements and immediately innovate on health services and insurance in Papua.
"The UHC award received by Papua yesterday is a form of appreciation for the commitment of the district, city, and provincial governments in providing health insurance to the community."
"And we will continue to be strongly committed to innovation so that people can get health insurance anytime and anywhere when they need it. Because we also want the target of the central government that health insurance covers 95% of the total population can be achieved," explained Suzana.
Suzana on that occasion also thanked BPJS Kesehatan of Jayapura and BPJS Kesehatan of Biak for working hard so that people in Papua Province can be guaranteed in the JKN Program.
"With the achievement of UHC in Papua Province and 9 Regencies/Cities, health facilities must also be more optimal in serving. In the future, we will continue to ensure that all Papuans remain guaranteed access to health services through the JKN Program," she said.
As known, in February 2023 the Papua Province had 183 First Level Health Facilities (FKTP) and 15 Advanced Level Referral Health Facilities that have collaborated with BPJS Kesehatan. ***
