JAYAPURA - Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian has officially extended the term of office of the Acting Mayor of Jayapura, Frans Pekey and Acting Regent of Sarmi, Markus Mansnembra.
The Decree (SK) extending the term of office of the two regional heads was handed over by the Daily Executive (Plh) of Papua Governor Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun, Friday (26/5/2023), at the Governor's Office Dok II, Jayapura.
Governor Ridwan on that occasion entrusted three main tasks (national agenda) that must be immediately carried out by the two regional heads. First, maintaining the stability of staple food prices through high-levelcoordination with the local Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) to control inflation.
Second, coordinate with related parties to take extreme steps in efforts to reduce stunting in their work areas.
Meanwhile, the third oversees the implementation of law number 2 of 2021 concerning the second amendment to the special autonomy law in Papua Province, so that adjustments can be made immediately.
"The adjustment is of course toward the implementation of the new format of special autonomy as mandated by government regulations number 106 and 107 as implementing regulations for special autonomy laws in Papua Province,"Ridwan said.
He added that his party also hopes that the Acting Regent of Sarmi and the Acting Mayor of Jayapura will bring services closer, respond to the interests of the community, and pay attention to the aspirations of the community.
"Including the implementation of the elections, it is hoped that the officials together with the National Armed and Police Force will prepare and succeed the national agenda," he said. ***
