JAYAPURA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Papua stated that the occupancy rate of star-rated hotels in Papua reached 34.83 percent during April 2023, a decrease of 4.96 points compared to the previous month at 39.79 percent.
According to the Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Papua Province, Adriana Helena Carolina, the decline occurred in the two-star, three-star, and four-star classes, respectively by 2.99 points, 8.07 points and 10.85 points.
"It has increased by 7.50 points for a one-star," Adriana said in Jayapura on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, in April 2023, it was recorded at 1.71 points for the Average Length of Stay of Guests (RLMT), a decrease of 0.13 points compared to March 2023.
The increase in RLMT occurred in one-star and two-star, by 0.48 points, and 0.27 points, respectively, while three-star and four-star decreased by 0.36 points, and 0.06 points, respectively.
"RLMT is the number of nights and guests coming to stay at the accommodation. And each of them has decreased”, she said.
Meanwhile, the occupancy rate of non-star classification hotels was reported to reach 18.36 percent during April 2023, an increase of 0.25 points compared to the previous month of 18.11 percent.
According to Adriana, this value reached 1.56 days, a decrease of 0.03 points compared to March 2023 which was 1.59 days.
"The decrease in RLMT occurred three-star and four-star by 0.08 points, and 0.14 points, respectively. While the one-star and two-star experienced an increase of 0.12 points and 0.06 points, respectively," she said. ***
