SEMARANG - The Korpri Papua Futsal Team performed perfectly in group stage A, Futsal Pornas XVI Korpri 2023 Central Java.

The squad under Daud Arim won 2-0 against Futsal Korpri Kemenko PMK, in the match held at, Undip Tembalang Futsal Sports Center, Semarang City, Monday (17/7/2023).

Papua won two goals, scored by Erik Salampessy in the first half and Vanli in the second half.

The result brought the Papua team through to the round of 32 with nine points while establishing themselves as group A winners.

The victory was also inseparable from the high-pressing technical game applied by the Papua squad. As a result, the opponents played more defensively, so they did not threaten the Papuan goal much.

Instead, the Papuan team confined the defense of the Coordinating Ministry of PMK, until a score of two zeros for Papua's advantage, persisted until the long whistle blew by the referee.
