JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government will focus the agenda of launching the 78th of Indonesian Independence Day at the Holtekamp Red Bridge, Jayapura City, Wednesday (2/8/2023).
The construction is estimated to involve 1,500 people, consisting of civil servants, the National Armed and Police Force, youth, students, associations and other elements which will be marked by balloon release, Holltekamp coastline cleaning and mangrove planting.
"There will also be the handover of bamboo trees for the protection of the Cycloop Nature Reserve, the handover of the Red and White Flag as part of a movement to distribute 10 million red and white flags nationwide and also entertainment," explained the Head of the Communication and Informatics Department, Jeri A. Yudianto, Friday (28/7/2023), in Jayapura.
While ahead of the peak event of the Indonesian Independence Day, several other agendas will be held, such as fun walks, fun bikes and joint gymnastics.
"There will also be an international friends game which is an exhibition football match with PNG. Then the coffee festival, MSME entrepreneur and entertainment, social devotion, blood donation and others," he said.
Jeri on that occasion appealed to all Papuan people to support and enliven the commemoration of the upcoming Indonesian Independence Day in August 2023.
He also appealed to the public to install national flags at their homes to enliven the celebration of Indonesian Independence Day, which this year is no longer in a Covid-19 atmosphere. ***
