JAYAPURA - The Daily Executive of the Governor of Papua, Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun encouraged the Regents and Mayors to be strongly committed to realizing joint commitments in an effort to reduce stunting rates in their respective regions.
Because the problem is not only the responsibility of the central and provincial governments but also the district and city governments.
"Moreover, the work that the Ministry of Home Affairs assesses to the Acting Regent or Mayor is stunting, extreme poverty, and inflation."
"This means that regional heads are expected to be more serious about fighting stunting and reducing inflation and poverty," Ridwan Rumasukun told the press, after the 2023 Stunting Bootcamp in Jayapura, Wednesday (2/8/2023) evening.
Therefore, Ridwan encourages continuous communication between the provincial and district and city governments in an effort to realize a joint commitment to reduce stunting.
"There must be collaboration, all stakeholders must jointly reduce stunting rates in Papua. Local governments cannot work alone,"he stressed.
During the Stunting Bootcamp agenda, Ridwan stated that the activity aimed to equalize perceptions related to the planned activity program to be carried out by the technical Regional Work Unit in handling stunting. Furthermore, the plan of the program was then conveyed to all stakeholders in Papua.
"In this sense, it is to garner commitment from various stakeholders. Not only in Papua but also districts and cities that are the focus locations of stunting in Papua," he said. ***
