"It will also be the best moment to convey all that is our common hope to the central government. Especially in early September, the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia will be based in Jayapura," explained Papua Regional Secretary Derek Hegemur in Jayapura, Friday.
While questioning the proposed changes to the 2023 Fiscal Year Regional Budget, Derek continued, the Papua Provincial Government does not plan large construction activities in large quantities. This is in order to control the budget ahead of the remaining time of the administration of Governor Lukas Enembe.
"This means that activities such as building construction that took more than three months were discontinued. However, the addition of activities is prioritized which is important."
"At least for additional activities in the 2023 Revised Budget, priority is given to activities that are important and urgent. In addition, it will be carried out until December 2023," he said.
Derek added that the Papua Provincial Government has taken steps to effectively increase budget absorption. Among them through the implementation of programs and activities on schedule and improving supervision of budget absorption.
"Similarly, strict monitoring and control of realization sourced from the transfer of Special Autonomy Funds. Because one of the assessments of special autonomy performance is the level of realization and it has an impact on the special autonomy fund in the next year,"he said. ***
