JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government positively welcomes the construction of the Indonesian Inter-Population Radio Monitor Post (RAPI) Regional 27 of Papua Province, on Holtekamp Beach, Jayapura City.
The construction of the monitoring post is believed will become one of the early warning systems for visitors to and around Holtekamp Beach, if there is a potential for other natural and social disasters.
"Holtekamp has a beach with white sand facing directly to the Pacific Ocean. So that we realize the potential for disasters that can be caused either naturally or other social disasters."
"For that purpose, I think this monitoring tower was built by members of RAPI. I would like to express my gratitude to all administrators and members of RAPI Papua for their energy and work contributions," explained the Governor of Papua in a written speech read by the Head of the Papua Communication and Informatics Service, Jeri A. Yudianto, at the inauguration of the RAPI Monitor Post in Jayapura City, Saturday (2/9/2023).
The Governor on that occasion also appreciated the contribution of service and real work of all RAPI members for the people of Papua. Because of selflessly helping the community and government in all corners of the Papua region.
This can be seen when there is a natural disaster in part of Papua, where RAPI members often take part in handling it. Not only to provide communication assistance through radio but also shoulder-to-shoulder to help people affected by disasters.
"Even today we see, the RAPI Organization in Papua can present work for the nation and the surrounding community. It's simple work to build a lookout post on Holtekamp Beach."
"I see this as a manifestation of very high concern for the safety of human souls," he said. ***
