JAYAPURA - The Papua Marine and Fisheries Service held a fishing logbookoperationalization on Tuesday (5/9/2023) evening.
The socialization activity was centered at the Papua Marine and Fisheries Service Hall Dok VII, Jayapura City.
With the application of the LogBookelectronics, it is expected that fishing efforts for fishing vessels above 5 GT will be maximized. Where boat owners and fishermen can get fish production data more easily, accurately, and in real-time.
"Because the main reason for the success of fisheries management today depends on the management of adequate data and information, as well as quality. One of them is through the application of the electronic LogBook for this time," explained the Papua Marine and Fisheries Service, Iman Djuniawal, on the sidelines of the agenda.
The electronic LogBook is a written daily report of the skipper regarding fishing activities and landing declarations. On the other hand, as the skipper's statement regarding fishing activities of fish resources (catches) at sea, which will be landed at fishing ports.
