JAYAPURA – Acting Governor of Papua Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun called on all government agencies, non-governmental organizations, the private sector and the general public in Papua, to play an active role in efforts to prevent corrupt practices.
Thus, all parties are asked to commit to increasing cross-sector cooperation in an effort to overcome corruption in their respective sectors.
"I emphasize the importance of transparency, accountability and public participation in all corruption prevention measures in all sectors".
"Moreover, every step taken by the government is for the welfare of the community and not for personal interests or certain groups," said Governor Ridwan Rumasukun at the Coordination Meeting for the Acceleration of Corruption Prevention in Jayapura, Thursday (7/9/2023). This activity took place at the Papua Governor's Office and was attended by executive and legislative officials throughout Papua.
Still, according to Ridwan, the corruption prevention program in the Papua region has been implemented since 2016. However, the achievement value of corruption prevention has not been maximized, so it is necessary to accelerate efforts to prevent corruption in the Papua region.
Therefore, he invited all parties to build a culture of intolerance towards corrupt practices. In addition, supporting efforts to eradicate corruption by law enforcement agencies.
"This meeting is not an ordinary ceremonial activity but will sign the integrity pact for the ratification of the 2024 Regional Budget Plan. In addition, a joint commitment to prevent corruption in planning and budgeting the regional budget between executive officials and legislative officials throughout Papua," said Ridwan.
It is known that the Corruption Eradication Commission is confirmed to monitor intervention areas in 2023 in all provincial and district/city government areas in Papua. The monitoring is to see achievements and obstacles in efforts to prevent corruption.
