JAYAPURA - The Papuan Family Welfare Empowerment Driving Team (TP PKK) handed over assistance packages for handling stunting in 45 Integrated Service Posts of Supiori Regency.

Acting Governor Ridwan Rumasukun witnessed the handover as the Supervisor of TP PKK Papua, the Regional Secretary of Papua Derek Hegemur, the Heads of the Regional Apparatus Organization of Papua and the Coordination Forum for Regional Leaders of Supiori Regency.

Chairman of the Family Welfare Empowerment Driving Team of Papua Linda Onibala said the delivery of the stunting handling aid package was a form of her organization's support in supporting the work program of the Acting Governor, in addition to the main task of the organization to improve family welfare.

"Yes, this is only my first step for Family Welfare Empowerment after being inaugurated last week. Of course, we will continue with works like this with the aim of prospering families in Papua, "said Linda.

Meanwhile, the delivery of assistance for handling stunting from the Family Welfare Empowerment of Papua, including a clean and healthy living behavior package of 300 units, baby and child scales and vitamins.

Linda hopes the aid package handed over can provide many benefits for handling stunting in Supiori.

"Thank you for the welcome from the Supiori Regional Government, hopefully, what we bring this time can be useful and hopefully we continue to work together to empower the community in terms of handling stunting in Supiori," she explained.

She added, we can get more information related to stunting prevention and clean and healthy living procedures (PHBS) in the Integrated Service Posts.

The main purpose of PHBS is to ensure cleanliness and health of the body to protect the body from attacks by various kinds of viruses and bacteria that cause disease are also included in stunting prevention.

For this reason, an active role of Family Welfare Empowerment is needed in improving family health. "As the vanguard of the Family Welfare Empowerment Movement can invite people to always behave clean and healthy."

"And of course, we hope that cadres in Supiori can invite pregnant women, babies and toddlers to always go to the Integrated Service Posts so that they can get adequate health services," she hoped.

The Acting Governor of Papua, Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun said all government administrators have the responsibility to prepare the superior young generation on this land.

Therefore, he is optimistic that the collaboration created with the district government in terms of handling stunting will bear sweet results in the future.

"I just want to say that stunting in Supiori is at a high level because of the small population. But among these children, may I note my saying that in 20 years, these children will be regents, the speaker of the House of Representatives can also be governors."

"So we all have a responsibility for children in the land of Papua (prepared) to become the golden generation in 2045," he said. ***
