JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government is preparing a Regional Sports Grand Design (DBOD) which will be integrated with the Draft Provincial Regulation (Raperdasi) for Sports.
"Meanwhile, the ratification of the Sports Draft Provincial Regulation is underway and the stages towards the sports province have gone through the Forum Group Discussion (FGD) and the results have been submitted to the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Ma'ruf Amin when he went to Jayapura, yesterday," explained Papua Regional Secretary Derek Hegemur, Monday.
He hoped that the Central Government would soon issue a presidential regulation establishing Papua as a sports province. So that the existence of DBOD will be maximized to be implemented.
"Moreover, the DBOD will regulate sports science and also the sports center because the preparation of this DBOD also involves the Faculty of Sports, Cenderawasih University, including the Sports Draft Provincial Regulation."
"So the DBOD of Papua has been integrated into one document, we only have to wait for the central government to determine Papua's status as a sports province," he said.
Previously, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin during his visit to Jayapura, Papua, asked the local government to immediately compile DBOD as a follow-up to the formation of the National Sports Grand Design (DBON). ***
