SERUI – Acting Governor of Papua Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun officially opened the implementation of the Cenderawasih Bay Sail (STC) and the 2023 Yapen Islands Regency Cultural Festival, at Trikora Square, Serui, Wednesday (10/18/2023) night.
In his remarks, Governor Rumasukun hoped that these two agendas would be the starting point for confirming the Yapen Islands as a unique and fascinating cultural tourism destination in the Cenderawasih Earth region.
"Hopefully (the STC agenda and Yapen Islands Regency Cultural Festival) will also have a positive impact in promoting tourism, developing the local economy and maintaining our cultural heritage," explained Rumasukun when giving a speech.
He also encouraged all commodities displayed in the implementation of STC and Saireri Cultural Festival to be maintained, maintained and preserved, so as to attract tourists from abroad.
"Like the charm of Yapen's signature Ambaidiru coffee that has been introduced to Milan, Italy. Then seaweed along the Yapen coast must be a commodity that can improve the welfare of the people. Barramundi fish must be the new superior of the Yapen sea."
"Careful efforts must be made so that existing commodities can compete in export commodities and attract national and foreign tourists to come to visit Yapen," he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Acting Regent of Yapen Islands Welliam Manderi appreciated the attention in the form of visits and assistance to the community in Yapen.
"We appreciate all the agendas carried out by the governor as a manifestation of the attention of the Papua Provincial Government to help Yapen overcome inflation, stunting and increase community empowerment and independence," he said. ***
