JAYAPURA – The Category 2 (K2) Honorary Worker of Papua Provincial Government, has finally been completed. The long-awaited Decree of Civil Servant Candidate was finally handed over symbolically to 10 people from 9 Regional Work Units within the local government.

The decree was handed over by the Acting Governor of Papua, Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun, through Special Staff Elysa Auri, on Monday (10/23/2023), in Jayapura City.

"The appointment of honorees under 35 years old has been completed, the Decree has been printed today and is symbolically handed over to 10 people, it will be handed over at the Papua Regional Civil Service Agency Office. It is mandatory for the name concerned to take the decree himself and cannot be represented,"

"Technical methods at the Papua Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD) are also ready to hold the first and second batch of Basic Training for as many as 1,300 people." explained the  Head of Planning and Utilization of the Regional Civil Service Agency Apparatus of Papua Province, Origenes Kambuaya, after handing over the Decree of Civil Servant Candidate for K2 honorary employee.

The number of K2 honorary employees of the Papua Provincial Government recorded in the local BKD is 3,450 people. Of these, honorees under 35 years old were 2,253 people, while those over 35 years old amounted to 1,070 people.

Meanwhile, honorary workers over 35 years old, as the results of a meeting with the RB Ministry, BKN and the Ministry of Finance in Jakarta some time ago, are technically required to serve in the New Autonomous Region if they want to become civil servants.

If he survives to serve in the Papua Provincial Government, then the person concerned will remain as a Government Employee with a Work Agreement (PPPK).

"The law that regulates the acceptance of Civil Servant Candidate for honorary workers over the age of 35 years is only in the New Autonomous Region."

"The Acting Governors in the 3 New Autonomous Regions have also accepted and are ready to divide the three 1,070 honorary workers over the age of 35 years without being elected. This means that they will be directly divided without seeing the name," he explained. ***
