JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government has officially added five new Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), to maximize government services and development in the local area.
The addition of five new OPDs is an expansion of the previous institution, which shortly will be filled in structural and staff positions in the five new agencies.
"It is not a new OPD, but an OPD that was developed from the previous institution, such as the separation of the Civil Service Police Unit and the Regional Disaster Management Agency. So with the expansion of five OPDs, the total increased to 40 OPDs."
"Of course, the acting head of the department has been appointed, then the structural positions and staff will be carried out," explained Acting Papua Secretary Derek Hegemur in Jayapura, Monday (1/15/2024).
Meanwhile, the expansion of OPD in the Papua Provincial Government, added Derek, is based on Perdasi Number 18 of 2023 concerning the Establishment and Arrangement of Regional Apparatus. The regulation allows the Governor to encourage the formation of new OPDs, to maximize the acceleration of development.
"We hope that the new OPD can work optimally, in addition to the definitive task carried out. Meanwhile, starting in February, we hope that the administration will run normally again with 40 new houses," said the Secretary. ***
