JAYAPURA – Acting Assistant for Government Affairs of the Papua Regional Secretariat, Yohanes Walilo, stated that two students who were repatriated while studying in Singapore were not included in the Papua Superior Scholarship (SUP) program.
This was said by Walilo in Jayapura City, when met by reporters on Wednesday.
"We have received reports that two Papuan students in Singapore were repatriated. That's true and they're temporarily in Batam."
"But what I want to say is that these two are not included in the list of SUP programs," he said.
Walilo added that his party had been contacted by the local consulate and explained the issue of the repatriation of the two students.
They pay their accommodation fees to the wrong people, then fight until finally they are considered illegal students and expelled from Singapore.
"Papua Provincial Government has provided a living place for them."
"But the student chose to live outside that had been prepared by the government," he concluded.
