JAYAPURA - The Papua Communication and Informatics Agency in its work program in 2024, continues the free internet access program for residents of Papua in several places.
According to the Head of the Papua Communication and Informatics Agency, Jeri A. Yudianto, the provision of free internet access was again carried out in several places of worship, such as churches and mosques in 36 locations.
In addition, there is also the provision of free internet access for several public facilities such as High Schools and Dormitories.
"Including in locations for CCTV installed by the Papua Communication and Informatics Agency in several regencies/cities. They are in Jayapura City, Sarmi Regency, Keerom and Biak Numfor," explained Jeri in Jayapura, Friday (2/2/2024).
Not only that, the provision of free internet access also continued in four villages of Jayapura City, in Kayo Pulo, Kayu Batu, Enggros and Tobati Villages.
People in the four villages will be able to access free internet with Wi-Fi coverage by utilizing the bandwidth provided by the Papua Provincial Government.
"But the use of this bandwidth will be regulated by distribution time so that it can be enjoyed evenly by all people," he explained.
Meanwhile, added Jeri, the Papua Provincial Government will also provide VSAT facilities for places recommended by districts/cities that do not have internet access yet.
"It is planned that there will be four to five locations in each district that will get this facility with the aim of increasing the distribution of internet access, to provide ease of internet fulfillment for residents," he said. ***
