JAYAPURA - The State Civil Apparatus (ASN) of the Papua Provincial Government is asked to be a role model in terms of annual tax reporting.
Tax obligations are submitted in the form of the previous Personal Annual Tax Return (SPT).
According to Acting Assistant for Economic Affairs and People's Welfare of the Regional Secretariat of Papua, Suzana Wanggai, the importance of civil servants being role models will give examples for other family members and the surrounding environment.
"We as civil servants must (be role models in) submitting annual taxes. Because paying taxes is part of defending the country."
"As a good Indonesian citizen, civil servants are required to submit a Personal Annual Tax Return which is a form of participation in developing Papua," explained Suzana, when delivering directions at the joint briefing at the Governor Office, Jayapura City, Monday (4/3) morning.
Suzana said that the deadline for reporting annual tax returns is until March 31, 2024. Thus, it is expected that Echelon II, III and IV officials monitor all staff for reporting.
"The point is that defending the country is not only holding a weapon but by submitting an annual tax report, it is also included in defending the country because of the heroes of development," she emphasized again.
Suzana added that currently tax reporting can be submitted electronically through the application or website. Tax return submission can also be done offline.
"So there is no reason not to report taxes," she said.
Head of the Jayapura Tax Service Office (KPP) Hanna Heski Pontoh stated that the Directorate General of Taxes currently has an application that can be used to calculate taxes automatically.
"Now we also have a new application that can be accessed on the kalkulator.pajak.go.id, so it will automatically fill the count."
"This application is also to make it easier for taxpayers," she said. ***
