JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government through the local Food Crops, Horticulture and Food Office, officially started a week of cheap food movement in places of worship.
The initial start at Al Akhsar Mosque, Bucend, Entrop, Jayapura City, on Wednesday (13/3/2024) yesterday.
Head of the Papua Communication and Informatics Agency, Jeri A. Yudianto said the movement of cheap food in places of worship was to maintain price stability and control inflation in Papua Province.
This program is an instruction from the Acting Governor of Papua, to provide a sense of security for the citizens of Cenderawasih Earth, more specifically for those who are currently fasting and welcoming religious holidays next month.
"The point is that the Papua Provincial Government wants to be present in the community to provide convenience for people who are preparing religious holidays," explained Jeri, in a release received by the editor, Thursday (14/3/2024).
In addition to mosques, added Jeri, the Papua Provincial Government will hold a similar program in churches and other places of religious worship.
While the commodities provided are almost similar to the previous food movement, such as rice, chili, onion, garlic, purebred chicken meat, and chicken eggs.
Previously, the Papua Provincial Government also held a cheap food movement to stabilize the supply and prices of basic commodities and control inflation, ahead of Ramadan 2024, at the Governor's Office Yard, Jayapura City Wednesday (6/3/2024) morning.
All commodities sold are cheaper than market prices and 100 percent from local farmers. ***
