SENTANI - Acting Governor of Papua Ridwan Rumasukun paid a working visit to the Papua Harapan School/Harapan Papua Education Foundation in Kemiri, Sentani, Jayapura Regency, Papua Province, Monday (29/4/2024).
On that occasion, the Governor advised students to continue to study diligently so that they could pass on the baton of development.
"I hope that one day there will be among the children who become governors in the land of Papua," Ridwan said on the sidelines of his visit.
Ridwan on that occasion was proud of the existence of the Papua Harapan School, so he was asked to continue to build a commitment to educate Papuan children in a better direction.
"Papua Harapan School has built a considerable investment value in improving the quality of Papuan education, including by building infrastructure, expanding access to education, and improving the quality of learning. I believe that investment in the education sector is a long-term investment that will provide great benefits for the future of Papua," he said.
While arriving at the Papua Harapan School, the Acting Governor was immediately welcomed by teachers and administrators of the Foundation. During the visit, the Acting Governor was accompanied by the Head of the Regional Education, Library and Archives Office of Papua Province, Christian Sohilait.
"Thanks to the Papua Harapan Education Foundation, which has helped the Indonesian government to educate Papuan children, I hope that our cooperation will be better, and if there are obstacles we will help," Ridwan added.
Director of Papua Hope Language Institute (PHLI) / Yayasan Pendidikan Harapan Papua, Dr. Matt Basinger appreciated the visit of the Acting Governor of Papua and committed to assisting the government in educating excellent Papuan children for the future of Papua.
"We will continue to be committed to helping the government in the world of education in Papua, if there are obstacles we face in terms of land, we ask for support from the Papua provincial government," he said. ***
