JAYAPURA - After determining the Permanent Voter List (DPT) by the organizers of the General Election (Election), as many as 2,776 residents of Papua were reported to have not recorded their ID cards.
Head of the Papua Provincial Population and Civil Registration Agency, Jong Makanuay said his party immediately coordinated with relevant parties to overcome the obstacles experienced.
"There is still one month to record the e-KTP. Therefore, it is hoped that all will be the attention of all Population and Civil Registration Agency in nine city districts," he said, in Jayapura, Thursday.
According to Jong, thousands of residents who have not recorded are on average 17 years old and above. In addition, some people change domicile.
"Therefore, we also appeal to the public to record themselves by reporting to the nearest recording office. That way, they will be able to participate in the election on November 27, 2024," he said.
Previously, Papua General Election Supervisory Agency Commissioner, Yofrey Piryamta said that after the determination of the DPT in the 2024 Regional Head Election by theGeneral Elections Commission of Papua, it was found that 2,776 voters had not undergone electronic ID card recording.
Among them are spread across two districts in the Papua region, namely Mamberamo Raya Regency with 1,262 voters and Keerom Regency with 1,514 voters. ***
