JAYAPURA - The Agency for National Unity And Politics of Papua is asked to be more active in reporting the stages of filling members of the Papuan House of Representatives (DPRP) through the appointment mechanism.
Acting Governor of Papua Ramses Limbong hopes that reports will be submitted periodically so that his party can monitor all stages, whether it is going well or vice versa.
“I am sure the Selection Committee are public figures who have integrity. They have also committed to choosing the best,” explained Governor Ramses during a Working Meeting of DPRP Selection Committee Members with the Registration Secretariat and Representatives of Indigenous Leaders throughout Papua, Monday (18/11/2024).
The Governor is confident that the team will work heartily and eliminate conflicts of interest.
"So that new problems do not arise at every stage of the process," he said.
The Head of the National Unity and Politics of Papua, Musa Isir said the meeting aimed to socialize the Selection Committee regulations that had been set.
The Selection Committee regulation is the basis for carrying out the stages.
"The agenda of this meeting is the first time the Committee socializes regulations before the stages are carried out. This socialization is carried out both to the Provincial Registration Secretariat and those in districts/cities," said Musa.
He hopes the committee will work according to the mechanisms and procedures contained in Government Regulation 106 and the Selection Committee Regulation. "Because the experience of filling DPRK members has some problems, make this a lesson," he said. ***
