JAYAPURA - The Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong officially announced his region's 2025 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) and Sectoral Minimum Wage (UMS).
He asked the regency/city government to immediately realize it under applicable provisions and regulations. So that workers and entrepreneurs can jointly accept the results that have been agreed upon by the Papua Wage Council.
"Of course, even the slightest change must be beneficial. We hope it will not be a burden for entrepreneurs but a driver to increase their productivity," said Ramses in Jayapura, Wednesday (11/12/2024).
Meanwhile, the 2025 UMP value will increase by 6.5 percent, while the 2025 UMS figure will increase by 0.5 percent compared to 2024.
The announcement of UMP and UMS is based on the Papua Wage Council Session results.
"The 2025 Papua UMP is set at IDR 4,285,850 per month, an increase of 6.5 percent or IDR 261,578. Meanwhile, the UMS is IDR 4,307,280 per month, 0.5 percent larger or IDR 21,429," said Ramses.
He continued, that entrepreneurs are expected to fulfill their obligation to pay UMP under the applicable provisions starting January 1, 2025. His party will also supervise entrepreneurs to ensure that they fulfill these obligations.
"There is room for districts and cities to follow up according to applicable regulations. If they do not determine, the Papua Provincial Government will take over to determine," he said. ***
