JAYAPURA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Raka Buming Raka with some of the Ministers of the Red and White Cabinet attended the National Christmas celebration at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on Saturday night, December 28, 2024.

The Christmas Theme "Let's Now Go to Bethlehem" makes this Christmas Celebration the highlight of the Christmas event organized by the Government.

In his Christmas remarks, Prabowo Subianto emphasized jointly maintaining unity, and diversity and becoming a clean apparatus. Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to all parties who have worked hard so that the National Christmas Celebration runs well, safely and in an orderly manner full of harmony.

"This Christmas celebration is part of the life and personality of the diverse Indonesian nation, a nation full of differences, a diverse nation but one soul who wants one common goal and ideals," he said.

This National Christmas celebration was also held online and was attended by Papua Province and 5 other provinces in the Land of Papua, who were present specifically to fulfill the invitation of the 2024 National Christmas Committee.

Acting Governor of Papua Ramses Limbong, Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, Acting Regent of Jayapura, Acting Regent Sarmi, Acting Mayor of Jayapura, heads of Regional Work Unit, several Leaders of the Synod of Churches in Papua and Interfaith Leaders/FKUB were present online at the Jayapura State Building.

Limbong said that the Papua Provincial Government is ready to implement the Christmas message conveyed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia starting from himself, collaborating with stakeholders and the community, especially with interfaith figures.

Overall, the celebration took place solemnly and smoothly and ended with hospitality and greetings. ***
