JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government has expressed its readiness to follow up on all recommendations from the Papua Regional House of Representatives (DPR Papua) regarding the 2024 Governor’s Accountability Report (LKPJ).
This commitment was conveyed by the Acting Regional Secretary of Papua, Yohanes Walilo, during the closing session of the Papua DPR plenary meeting in Jayapura on Wednesday evening (April 16, 2025).
He assured that each note provided by the council would be addressed under existing regulations.
“The DPR’s recommendations are an essential part of our planning and budgeting process for this year and the next,” Walilo stated.
Walilo explained that the provincial government will refer to Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 19 of 2024 as the legal basis for the follow-up actions.
These recommendations will also serve as references in formulating strategic policies and regional regulations.
He emphasized the importance of synergy between the executive and legislative branches to improve governance.
“This is part of our commitment to realizing an accountable and transparent government,” he affirmed. ***
