JAYAPURA – The Indonesian Ministry of Law has granted a trademark certificate to Ariestoteles Ap, the Head of the Papua Province Forestry and Environment Office (DKLH).
Ariestoteles received the trademark certificate for Farkin, the processed eucalyptus oil produced by the Papua Forestry and Environment Office (DKLH) located in Biak Regency.
The certificate was officially handed over by the Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, during the celebration of World Intellectual Property Day.
Acting Governor Ramses Limbong stated that technological and informational advancements in the digital era have brought significant changes across all sectors, including intellectual property rights.
He emphasized that digital progress should be utilized optimally to create works that yield maximum economic benefits for their creators.
"These new creative works must be legally protected through copyright and trademark protection, especially for MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) in Papua Province," Ramses said.
The governor encouraged relevant agencies to continue supporting the public and coordinating with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights regarding intellectual property rights, including brands, logos, trademarks, industrial designs, patents, and more.
According to Ramses, Indonesia, particularly Papua, is home to many talents in the creative industry. Every day, creative content and ideas by the nation's youth emerge across various sectors.
