JAYAPURA – Students and the public took part in a fun walk while carrying the Indonesian flag. This was part of thePapua Eduwalk 2025event, celebrating National Education Day at the Papua Governor’s Office.
Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, stated that the commemoration of Papua’s integration on May 1, 2025, is a moment to continue strengthening the commitment to peace.
"May 1 is a historic moment for the Land of Papua and for the Indonesian nation," said Ramses.
According to Governor Ramses, this day marks the remembrance of Papua's integration into the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
"Therefore, I call on all Papuan people, including traditional, religious, and women leaders, as well as relevant institutions to strengthen dialogue, brotherhood, and maintain peace in the Land of Cenderawasih," he urged.
With the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity), Ramses invited everyone to unite in building a better Papua, aiming for inclusive development.
"By preserving peace, economic growth will improve even amid efficiency efforts," he concluded. ***
